At WMB Childcare, the safety and security of the children are our top priorities. We have robust security measures in place, including controlled access to the premises, CCTV surveillance, and trained staff who closely monitor the children at all times. All our facilities are protected by high steel fencing to keep children for escape. We conduct regular safety drills and maintain a secure environment both indoors and outdoors.
Our nursery and nursery services cater to children from the age of 6 months to 11 years. We have age-appropriate curriculum and activities designed to meet the developmental needs of each age group.
Our curriculum is based on the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) framework, which focuses on holistic development encompassing communication, language, physical, cognitive, and social-emotional skills. Our staff members are highly qualified and experienced in early childhood education. A number of our staff team holds Masters & Bachelor’s Degree in Early Years & Education. They hold relevant qualifications such as CACHE Level 3 Diploma in Childcare and Education, NVQ Level 3 in Early Years Care and Education, and have undergone extensive training in safeguarding, first aid, and behaviour management. We do give opportunities for upcoming talents to grow their potential also and we have few apprentices.

Our kitchen facilities meet all hygiene and safety standards, and our staff members are trained in food handling and preparation. We are periodically inspected by the Manchester City Council’s Environmental Health Officer to ensure we meet hygiene and Safety standards.
Yes, we offer a range of specialized activities to enhance children’s learning and development. Working in partnership with Manchester City Football Club, we offer football classes within the CityPlay scheme for children from 2 to 5 years old. It’s a great way for little ones to get active, learn football and teamworking skills, and develop their gross motor skills. Other activities include music from Tom the Music Man, movement sessions, art and craft activities, outdoor play in our secure playground, and regular field trips to educational places of interest.

This is done using our childcare software ‘EYLOG’. We also organise parent-practitioner meetings, progress reviews meetings, and utilise digital platforms for sharing updates, photos, and important announcements via our website and social media handles. The pivotal role our end of day parents feedback session can also not be understated.

If a child is unwell, we request that parents keep them at home to prevent the spread of illness. We offer on-site parking facilities for your convenience. We also have a pram store available, but please note that parking and storing items are done at the owner’s risk.

We have separate feedback forms for existing customers, new customers, and those who are leaving our nursery. Additionally, we encourage parents to leave reviews on DayNurseries website, a trustworthy and well-known platform. Furthermore, we incorporate feedback as an integral part of our Parents Evening, where we actively seek input and feedback from parents to continuously improve our services.
We do take children out into the community and on outings as part of our nursery curriculum. We prioritize the safety of our children by strictly following our trip and outing procedure. This includes conducting thorough risk assessments to identify and mitigate potential risks. We also ensure that our staff members are qualified and trained in first aid, and they carry first aid bags during outings. Moreover, we maintain smaller ratios to provide close supervision and individual attention to each child, ensuring their well-being throughout the outing.

In addition, we implement the Think Equal Early Years Programme provided by Manchester City Council. This program includes 36 topic areas with resources designed to foster positive outcomes, develop personal and social skills, and enhance emotional competencies. With a focus on social cognition and utilizing narrative techniques, this program aims to positively impact children’s lives within and beyond the nursery environment.
