This is excluding the dining area and our community/training room. We have three rooms within the nursery and a dining room and your child’s placement in any of the room is dependent on their age and development.
We have a wide of excellent resources and are constantly bringing in new resources to help our children develop to the best of their abilities and beyond. The nursery staff continuously provide well planned creative, imaginative and adventurous activities.
All our rooms have direct access to a large and enclosed outside area where the children can explore and develop outside the room. The staff encourage the children outdoors whatever the weather – rain, sunshine or snow. All part of the new experiences that are offered at Winstanley.
We know how important it is that the first transition from home to nursery be a smooth one, particularly for new parents. We take every effort to ensure that parents feel that the setting is for them and their children, and this is no exception to the baby room.
With a maximum of 12 children in our baby room at any one time, our baby room ensures that all babies receive lots of individual attention from staff who are experienced, dedicated and professional. Babies of six weeks and upwards are looked after by a qualified and caring staff team in their own quiet and stimulating room filled with soft cushions, feeding chairs, cots, natural displays and more.
The staff have a good knowledge of the EYFS and nursery policies to ensure that the babies are receiving the best possible care. They have friendly personalities in order to create great relationships with children and their parents and carers. They are confident and enthusiastic in carrying out activities that give the children maximum enjoyment. They are always welcome to new ideas, and activities.
Supported by a very passionate Room Leader, the toddler room nursery nurses possess a combined wealth of qualifications and experience. All team members have worked in several childcare settings previously, helping them to share the experiences, ideas and knowledge gained to other team members helping to improve their own practice and drive forward the success of the room and the nursery as a whole.
The Toddler room offers a large space for the children to explore both inside and out. They have constant access to outside; they have the door open all day so the children have a choice whether they want to be outside or inside and the nursery nurses constantly supervise both areas. Self-serving is encouraged during every meal time to encourage hand-eye co-ordination as well as independence. The toddler room offers many messy and creative activities from gloop and paint to water and sand activities.
Our pre-school room is a large room that is led by child interest. All activities here are fun and keep young minds interested whilst the children focus on independence and getting ready for ‘big school’. The days are more structured to mirror the structured day in schools and there are lots of sensory areas and as well as a variety of interesting and creative activities. The children can use the outside play area every day to explore and participate in activities such as the mud kitchen, painting and an obstacle course.
The pre-school team have a range of qualifications and experience and bring some excellent qualities to the team. Having worked in nurseries before, all team members are confident liaising with parents and working with their key children to ensure child progression against the EYFS. The team have ample experience in setting fun and stimulating activities and the room leader ensures that all activities are suitable and relevant to the child’s development and getting ready for primary school.
