The children took to the fishes very well and they all have names which the children have chosen. They really have become part of our family at Hillcity.
This term we have had the arrival of our Rabbit ‘Harry’ who the children adore. Harry is very friendly and has his own little space outside to explore. At Hillcity we feel that having animals teaches the children very valuable skills.
The children have been getting involved with taking care of them, feeding them and keeping them clean. All these skills have helped us to carry out activities to promote health and hygiene for our children. We have spoken about germs and the importance of washing hands as well as becoming aware of tidiness. In Pre-school they have even carried out activities to teach the children about healthy eating and they have used this to plant some tomatoes of our own.
We are hoping that Harry will like them too.
Well done Folake, Winstanley Managers and the girls.
